As per the ministry, the total number of active cases stands at 91,361 cases, which is less than 1 percent of the total number of cases, while the death toll climbed to 4,81,080 with 220 new COVID fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the data stated on Friday.<\/p>\n
The number of recoveries rose to 3,42,66 363 as 7,585 more people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, the data mentioned. The daily positivity rate (1.34 percent) is less than 2 percent for the last 88 days.<\/p>\n
The weekly positivity rate (0.89 percent) is less than 1 percent for the last 47 days. In Delhi, the number of fresh COVID cases has crossed the 1000-mark after 7 months, reaching 1,313 — a 42 percent rise over Thursday’s figures. The positivity rate touched 1.73 percent, the health department data showed.<\/p>\n
No fresh COVID deaths were reported. Meanwhile, India logged 309 fresh Omicron infections, taking the total tally of such cases in the country to 1,270. Maharashtra recorded the maximum number of 450 cases, followed by Delhi with 320 cases, Kerala 109, and Gujarat with 97 cases.<\/p>\n
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, meanwhile, said Omicron<\/a> is gradually spreading in the community and the variant has been found in 46 percent of the latest samples analyzed in the national capital. The government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country. According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Friday, 67.78 Crore tests for COVID-19 have been done so far. \u201cIndia has administered 144.54 cr doses of COVID-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,\u201d the Ministry’s data said.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
