He landed in a C-130J Super Hercules IAF plane here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and inaugurated the Purvanchal Expressway at Karwal Kheri Village.<\/p>\n
The inauguration program was held near the 3.5-km long airstrip made on the expressway that will witness the landing of fighter jets like Rafale, Sukhoi, Mirage.<\/p>\n
Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with other dignitaries were present at the function. The 341-km long expressway from Lucknow to Ghazipur will connect Delhi with Bihar by Yamuna expressway and Agra-Lucknow expressway.<\/p>\n
The Bihar border is only 20 km away from the Purvanchal expressway where it ends in Ghazipur.\u00a0 The new six-lane expressway will begin from Chand Sarai village in Lucknow.\u00a0 It was built at a cost of around Rs 23,000 crore, including Rs 1,719 crore given as compensation for the acquisition of 1,349 hectares of land from the farmers.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Prime Minister in July 2018 had laid the foundation stone of the Purvanchal Expressway and it was completed in record time. The expressway also has a 3.5-km long airstrip where fighters and other aircraft can land during emergencies.<\/p>\n
Purvanchal Expressway will pass through Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur districts.<\/p>\n
