Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pope Francis first time, aside from having bilateral meetings with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, the respective chairs of the COP26 and the G20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also meet Pope Francis at the Vatican.<\/a><\/p>\n Bilateral meetings are also likely to be held with the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, in a briefing about Prime Minister Modi\u2019s upcoming visits to Rome and Glasgow for the two summits, said that while in Rome for the G20, he will call on Pope Francis at the Vatican.<\/p>\n Bilateral meetings with other world leaders are also being planned on, he added. \u201cThe Prime Minister will meet the chairs of both the G20 and COP26 in the bilateral capacity. He is going to Italy, so he will meet the Italian PM, and in the UK he will meet the UK PM. The Prime Minister will also call on Pope Francis at the Vatican when he is in Rome, and he will be meeting several other world leaders. This is a work in progress,\u201d the Foreign Secretary said.<\/p>\n He added that during both the summits there would be several round tables and interactions during which PM Modi would be meeting a lot of heads of state and government in the normal course.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are also looking at a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince. Saudi Arabia was the immediate past president of the G20. And the PM will also be meeting the next president of the G20, that is Indonesia.\u201d \u201cThere are a very large number of bilaterals that are still being world out. There is scope for a number of bilaterals within the margins of the conferences and at the conference itself, and we have kept room for that kind of meetings,\u201d the Foreign Secretary added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be flying to Rome, Italy, and Glasgow, UK, from October 29-November 2, to attend the 16th G-20 Summit and the World Leaders\u2019 Summit of COP-26 respectively.<\/p>\n
