Many were killed in a bomb blast in the Kandahar Shia Mosque in Afghanistan during Friday prayers where many casualties are feared.<\/h2>\n

The blast is anticipated to have killed<\/a> at least 25 people, Sputnik reported quoting local hospital sources as bodies were seen being collected in viral videos from the blast site, in cloths, and carried out. So far the number of injured is put at 20 as more details are awaited.<\/p>\n

However, heavy casualties are feared as the blast occurred during the busiest congregation of the week at the Imam Bargah mosque in Kandahar.<\/p>\n

A Taliban spokesperson for the interior ministry said that authorities are accumulating details on the explosion, reported Reuters.<\/p>\n

This comes a week after the deadly suicide attack<\/a> in a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan’s Kunduz city, multiple explosions hit a mosque in Kandahar city during the Friday prayers, reported new agencies.<\/p>\n

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but the Islamic State has been targeting the minority Shiite Muslims in the Sunni-dominated nation.<\/p>\n
