Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli<\/a> has made a major announcement before the T20 World Cup giving information through a tweet on Thursday that he will step down from the T20 captaincy after the upcoming World Cup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an emotional post, he thanked all his fellow players, support staff, and BCCI and also described himself as fortunate. He wrote a long post on social media announcing that he will leave captaincy.<\/p>\n

In the post, he thanked all those who supported him in his journey as captain. Virat further said that workload plays a big role in the game. \u201cIn the last 8-9 years, there has been a lot of pressure in all the three formats. Not only this, in the last 5-6 years I have been captaining continuously in all three formats, so I think I should be fully prepared for Tests and ODIs. In the T20 format, as a captain, I have done everything that I should have done and I will continue to contribute as a batsman in the future.\u201d the post reads.<\/p>\n
