Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin contract to Brazil lit up controversy after the South American Attorney General reportedly started an investigation into the deal to purchase 20 million doses.<\/p>\n
Originally, the Brazilian government agreed to purchase 20 million doses of Bharat Biotechs COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin, but on Wednesday announced the suspension of the contract following allegations of irregularities in the deal.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy recommendation of @CGUonline, we decided to temporarily suspend the Covaxin contract.<\/p>\n
According to CGU\u2019s preliminary analysis, there are no irregularities in the contract, but, due to compliance, the @minsaude opted to suspend the contract for further analysis,\u201d Brazil Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga tweeted.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, a money-making racquet on vaccines is sky rising.\u00a0\u00a0The vaccine is being sold privately in India at exorbitantly high rates while still not available in government facilities and the public are forced to buy them at private hospitals for as high as Rs. 1200 despite government orders of vaccines to be sold not more than Rs. 150.\u00a0 It appears everyone is hand-in-gloves with the scam because people are getting away with it.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, vaccine scams are running through states and over 2,000 in Mumbai were injected with fake COVID-19 jabs, 500 in Kolkata and a probe is underway.\u00a0 The Mumbai Police has arrested 10 people, including two doctors at a private hospital for injecting residents of an upscale housing complex in the city with a saline solution instead of COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n
The vaccines should not be permitted to be sold at any cost because such cheating would start as corruption is scaling up with everyone trying to make an extra buck at the cost of the horrific pandemic.<\/p>\n
Perhaps Brazil was holding its reservations on getting vaccines from India on learning of the vaccine scams going on in India and is this why they paused on the deal?<\/p>\n
