PM Modi launches mYoga app, saying it will help fulfill the motto of \u2018One World, One Health\u2019<\/p>\n
In this event, the Minister of State Ayush Kiren Rijiju made a speech, and a live Yoga demonstration by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga was performed. The Yoga demonstration followed the Prime Minister’s address from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.<\/p>\n
The main theme of IDY 2021 is “Yoga for Wellness”, which is aligned to the current pre-occupations.\u00a0 Notably, the Missions of India abroad have been organizing various activities in the run-up to the event in their respective countries, and as per reports, Yoga Day will be observed in about 190 countries globally.<\/p>\n
The IDY observation today will consist of individuals participating in massive numbers in the harmonious demonstration\/ performance of Yoga at 7 am.<\/p>\n
The live Yoga demonstration was followed by messages from 15 spiritual leaders and Yoga Gurus namely: Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Dr HR Nagendra, Kamlesh Patel, Dr Veerendra Hegde, Dr Hamsaji Jayadeva, OP Tiwari, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Dr Chinmay Pandey, Muni Shri Sagar Maharaj, Swami Bharat Bhushan, Dr Vishwas Mandalik, Sister BK Shivani, S Sridharan, and Antoinette Rozi.<\/p>\n
The observation of IDY is a global event and preparations usually start 3-4 months prior to June 21. Millions of people are introduced to Yoga every year.<\/p>\n
The International Day of yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said:<\/p>\n
\nIf there are threats to humanity, Yoga often gives us a way of holistic health. <\/p>\n
Yoga also gives us a happier way of life. <\/p>\n
