Chief Secretaries of states and advisors to administrators of the UTs apprised the Committee of the damage to infrastructure, crops as well as loss of life in the cyclone<\/a>-hit states and the measures taken by them to restore telecom, power, roads, water supply, and other utilities.<\/h2>\n

New Delhi<\/strong>: Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has directed the cyclone-hit states to restore telecom, power, roads, water supply & other infrastructures at the earliest by the concerned state and Central agencies.<\/p>\n

Chairing the meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) on Thursday to review the relief and restoration efforts made by the state government, UT Administrations, Central Ministries or agencies in the aftermath of Cyclonic storm \u2018Tauktae\u2019, he expressed satisfaction that due to advance and timely action was taken by all agencies, functioning of hospitals and COVID Care Centres in the affected areas also remained unaffected.<\/p>\n

It was noted that due to the timely and accurate forecast of IMD and coordinated efforts of all concerned central and state and UT agencies, damage and loss of lives has been limited.<\/p>\n

The efforts carried out by the Indian Navy and Coast Guard along with other agencies, to rescue persons on three barges and one offshore drilling vessel of ONGC were also discussed.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretaries and officials of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, along with Advisors to Administrators of Lakshadweep and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu.<\/p>\n

Secretaries and officers from Ministries of Home Affairs, Shipping, Telecommunications, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Power, Health, Food & Public Distribution, Drinking Water & Sanitation also participated in the meeting along with Member Secretary NDMA, DGs of NDRF, IMD, Coast Guard, and Dy Chief IDS.<\/p>\n
