– A teacher in Miami falsely told students to not hug their vaccinated parents for more than five seconds due to shedding, according to The New York Times<\/p>\n
– There is no Pfizer document that confirms the existence of “shedding,” according to gynecologist Dr. Jennifer Gunter.<\/p>\n
The notion that the COVID-19 vaccines can be “shed” like the coronavirus itself “is a conspiracy that has been created to weaken trust” in the vaccines, said Christopher Zahn, vice president of practice activities at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.<\/p>\n
The dangerous misleading narrative not only discourages people from getting the vaccine but also seeks to isolate or punish those who have.<\/p>\n
Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, users shared warnings that serious side effects, including menstrual irregularities and infertility, can come from contact with vaccinated people.<\/p>\n
The claims about “vaccine shedding” are not only fake but also biologically impossible given the structure of the COVID-19 vaccines.<\/p>\n
“There is absolutely no biological mechanism for any COVID-19 vaccine side effects or vaccine components to shed to others,” said Dr. Shruti Gohil, the associate medical director for epidemiology and infection prevention at the University of California, Irvine.<\/p>\n
It must be remembered that vaccines over the ages have fought and eradicated smallpox, chickenpox, polio, and other viruses; however, many conspiracy theories are floating around presently to destroy people’s trust in vaccines which would actually be the answer to fight to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
