The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) was leading in the Behrampura ward in early trends and did win 8 seats which is a good grip for a first-time entrant.<\/p>\n
BSP has won three out of four seats in Ward 6 of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation.<\/p>\n
Ashok Dangar, president of Rajkot city unit of Congress, lost from Ward No 17 of Rajkot Municipal Corporation.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the BJP has so far won 24 out of 72 seats in Rajkot, 32 out of 64 seats in Jamnagar, and 15 out of 52 seats in Bhavnagar.<\/p>\n
Officials recorded an average 46.1 percent voter turnout in the six municipal corporations in Gujarat. Polling was held from 7 am to 6 pm on Sunday for a total of 144 wards across six civic bodies \u2013 Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Jamnagar. As per the final figures shared by the SEC of Sunday\u2019s polling, Ahmedabad had the lowest turnout of 42.5 percent, while Jamnagar recorded the highest turnout of 53.4 percent. Besides, Rajkot recorded 50.7 percent polling, Bhavnagar-49.5 percent, Vadodara-47.8 percent, and Surat- 47.1 percent. Of the total 1.14 crore voters registered in these six cities, 52.83 lakh cast their votes on Sunday per reports.<\/p>\n
The Congress has won 10 seats in Ahmedabad, four in Rajkot, 11 in Jamnagar, five in Bhavnagar, seven in Vadodara, and zero seats in Surat. Its workers celebrated by cutting cakes after the party won two panels (each having four candidates) in the city.<\/p>\n
The Congress did not win any seats in Surat.\u00a0 The Bahujan Samaj Party has won three seats in Jamnagar.<\/p>\n
The BJP has won 62 seats in Ahmedabad corporation, 50 in Jamnagar, 51 in Rajkot, 61 in Vadodara, 45 in Surat, and 31 in Bhavnagar<\/p>\n
The AAP fielded 470 candidates across six corporations.\u00a0 The AAP, a newcomer in Gujarat, made fresh inroads by winning eight seats in Surat.\u00a0 Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is to visit Gujarat on February 26 to conduct a roadshow after AAP\u2019s surprisingly good performance in the municipal polls in Gujarat.\u00a0 Aam Aadmi Party was seen celebrating its win in the municipal polls by cutting a cake at the party\u2019s Ahmedabad office.<\/p>\n
It was a setback for Congress and there was anger at Congress office in Surat with Congress workers furious at not winning a single seat in Surat. They burned the effigies of Congress\u2019 city leaders Babu Raika and Kadir Pirzada according to reports.<\/p>\n
