Joe Biden, President of the United States made a disputable statement perhaps in the mode of diplomacy in a statement for the Uyghur genocide by the Chinese government, \u201cCulturally there are different norms\u201d!<\/p>\n
More than three million Muslim Uyghurs of mixed Caucasian and East Asian origins in China were detained in concentration camps by Chinese authorities in western China\u2019s Xinjiang under the guise of \u201cre-education\u201d against extremist thought.\u00a0 They are subject to brainwashing, hard labor, and even psychological torture, while others are slaughtered alive, killed for organ harvesting which is a hugely profitable “business” in China.<\/p>\n
The Human Rights Watch claims that the Chinese government is detaining them to indoctrinate Uyghurs and other Muslims since 2017 as part of a “people’s war on terror,” and this policy was announced in 2014.<\/p>\n
Uyghurs who have managed to escape claim the Chinese government inflicted \u201cmind control\u201d psychological torture, including engaging in practices contrary to Islam and it is evident the Chinese government has once again glorified and normalized slavery in the modern age.\u00a0 This knowledge came to light from satellite imagery, leaked information, analysis of data, and stories from individual families.<\/p>\n
UN Human Rights Council reported through reliable sources that the Chinese government is killing religious and ethnic minorities, and harvesting their organs on an industrial scale.\u00a0 It is revealed that this organ harvesting is being conducted on members of the Falun Gong spiritual group for at least 20 years and that the practice was ongoing today.<\/p>\n
The China Tribunal reported that many others were killed for their organs, \u201cThey were killed and cut open while still alive for their kidneys, livers, hearts, lungs, cornea, and skin to be removed and turned into commodities for sale.\u201d<\/p>\n
While China denies this, there is more evidence to support that this is happening.<\/p>\n
The US President Joe Biden on Tuesday during the CNN town hall speech that China will have to face repercussions over human rights abuses and said, “The US must speak up on human rights abuses and that there will be repercussions for China, and (Xi Jinping) knows that.”<\/p>\n
Biden said on his first official trip since taking office as president in January, ” China is trying very hard to become the world leader. And to get that moniker and be able to do that they have to gain the confidence of other countries. And as long as they are engaged in an activity that is contrary to basic human rights, it’s going to be hard for them to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Biden went on to explain what he told President Xi Jinping during his phone call with him with regards to human rights abuses and the United States’ stance and said, “I point out to him no American President can be sustained as a President if he doesn’t reflect the values of the United States. And so the idea is, that I am not going to speak out against what he’s doing in Hong Kong, what he’s doing with the Uyghurs in the western mountains of China and Taiwan trying to end the one-China policy by making it forceful…he gets, it culturally there are different norms that each country and that leaders are expected to follow.”<\/p>\n
He also said that the issue and China policy, in general, is “much more complicated than that, I shouldn’t try to talk China policy in 10 minutes on television.”<\/p>\n
Is the President playing down on the Uyghur Genocide by diluting it to \u201cdifferent cultural norms\u201d and \u201ccomplex Chinese policy?\u201d<\/p>\n
He clearly had a very different stance in 2019 when on November 18, 2019, Biden tweeted, \u201cChina\u2019s internment of nearly one million Uighur Muslims is among the worst abuses of human rights in the world today. The U.S. cannot be silent \u2014 we must speak out against this oppression and relentlessly defend human rights around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
