Haryana has a total of 2.01 crore registered voters, including 1.06 crore males, 0.95 crore females, 4.52 lakh first-time voters, and 40.95 lakh young voters. Among the 90 constituencies, 73 are classified as General, and 17 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), with no seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST). The updated electoral roll for Haryana is scheduled to be published on August 27.<\/p>\n
Key election dates include September 12 as the deadline for filing nominations, with scrutiny on September 13. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until September 16.<\/p>\n
BJP leader Anil Vij welcomed the election schedule, stating that the party and its workers are fully prepared for the October 1 elections. Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed the Congress party’s readiness, emphasizing that people across all sections are supporting Congress. Haryana Congress Chief Udai Bhan echoed this sentiment, predicting a two-thirds majority win for Congress.<\/p>\n
The upcoming 2024 elections in Haryana are anticipated to be a four-way contest between BJP, Congress, JJP, and AAP.<\/p>\n
In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured 40 seats and formed a coalition government with JJP, which won 10 seats, while Congress won 31 seats. However, the BJP-JJP alliance was dissolved earlier this year.<\/p>\n
