Following the Supreme Court’s ruling against electoral bonds, the Congress sharply criticized the scheme, labeling it as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “outright corruption.”<\/p>\n

Media department head Pawan Khera condemned the scheme as a tool for bribery and commission, while party leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge welcomed the court’s decision, calling the scheme unconstitutional and a “Black Money Conversion” scheme.<\/p>\n

Expressing concerns about Modi’s potential efforts to undermine the verdict, Kharge urged the government to respect the court’s decision for the sake of democracy and transparency. Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh emphasized the lack of transparency not only in electoral bonds but also in electronic voting machines (EVMs), urging the Supreme Court to address this issue.<\/p>\n

Former finance minister P. Chidambaram hailed the court’s decision as a victory for transparency and democracy, highlighting the scheme’s violation of principles such as equality and fairness.
