TMC leader and former Lok Sabha member Mahua Moitra has submitted her response to a questionnaire by the CBI regarding allegations of corruption in raising questions in the house, officials confirmed on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The CBI is currently reviewing Moitra’s response, following which it will compile a report to be sent to the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal, who initially referred the matter to the agency.<\/p>\n

The agency is conducting a preliminary inquiry into the allegations against Moitra based on the Lokpal’s reference. Additionally, the CBI has reportedly interviewed lawyer Jai Dehadrai and businessman Darshan Hiranandani as part of its investigation.<\/p>\n

Queries sent by PTI to Moitra have gone unanswered, and the CBI has declined to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n

BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey had accused Moitra of targeting the Adani group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi with her questions in Lok Sabha, allegedly at the behest of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. He further accused Moitra of compromising national security for monetary gains.<\/p>\n

Moitra has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, asserting that she is being targeted because of her inquiries into the Adani group’s deals.<\/p>\n

In a statement in November, Moitra criticized the media circus surrounding the issue, highlighting that neither Lok Pal has uploaded any referral order on its website in accordance with the Lokpal Act nor has the CBI released any official statement. She also referenced the alleged \u20b913,000 crore Adani coal scam, expressing hope that it receives a CBI Preliminary Enquiry (PE) before her alleged witchhunt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
