The cage culture for fish production will be done in Dumbur Lake, located in the Dhalai district. The initiative is part of the Rural Infrastructure Development program and aims to enhance the productivity and sustainability of fisheries in the state. The Fisheries Minister, Sudhangshu Das, stated that around 3,032 fishermen in Gandacherra, the area surrounding Dumbur Lake<\/a>, earn an average monthly income of Rs 8,000-14,000 from fishery activities. However, fishing is suspended during the monsoon due to the heavy water flow. To support the livelihoods of fishermen during these three months, the state government provides a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to each fisherman.<\/p>\n Dumbur Lake, which is one of the largest water bodies in the country, falls under the jurisdiction of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
