Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved 24×7 operations for an additional group of 155 shops and commercial establishments<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In an effort to boost Delhi’s nighttime economy, create job opportunities, and ensure worker welfare, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved 24×7 operations for an additional group of 155 shops and commercial establishments across the capital city on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

This decision is part of the government’s continuous endeavors to promote a flourishing business environment in the city. The number of establishments permitted to operate round-the-clock has seen a remarkable increase.<\/p>\n

With the Chief Minister’s intervention, a total of 523 shops have been granted permission to operate 24\/7 in the past two years. This marks a significant departure from the previous trend where only 269 establishments were allowed such exemptions between 1954 and 2022, spanning a period of 68 years.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s office, while 313 applications were approved in 2022, 55 applications have already been approved in the current year.<\/p>\n

By granting approval for the 24×7 operations to a new group of commercial applicants, the Delhi government aims to generate more job opportunities, protect the interests of workers, and contribute to the overall development of the local economy.<\/p>\n

This development is expected to have a positive impact on both businesses and consumers. The extended operational hours will also provide convenience to the residents of Delhi, who can now access essential goods and services around the clock.<\/p>\n

To facilitate this, the Delhi Government has granted exemptions from Section 14, 15, and 16 of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954, which impose restrictions on hiring night-shift employees, as well as rules regarding opening and closing times and holidays for commercial establishments.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Delhi government has completely digitized the application process, putting an end to unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles. Traders will no longer need to visit government offices, as their applications will be processed within four weeks after submission, along with verification and on-site inspections, as stated in the official statement.<\/p>\n
