Mamata Banerjee, expressed the continuous efforts of the state government to ensure the safety and security of those affected by the tragic train accident near Balasore<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, expressed the continuous efforts of the state government to ensure the safety and security of those affected by the tragic train accident near Balasore.<\/p>\n

Banerjee shared that currently, there are around 206 individuals from Bengal who are hospitalized, out of which approximately 73 are undergoing treatment. About 56 people have already been discharged after receiving treatment, while 182 individuals remain unidentified.<\/p>\n

She conveyed her deep sadness while informing that nearly 81 people from Bengal lost their lives in this unfortunate accident. Banerjee assured that the situation is being closely monitored from various locations, including Kharagpur, Santragachi, Howrah, and Nabanna.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also highlighted the active efforts of a dedicated team of IAS officers working at the borders to ensure the safe transportation of individuals from Odisha to Bengal.<\/p>\n

Banerjee announced the decision to provide financial assistance to support the affected families. Each affected family in Bengal will receive Rs 5 lakh, while those with severe injuries will be granted Rs 1 lakh. Individuals with minor injuries will receive \u20b925,000, and those who have not sustained physical injuries but have experienced trauma will receive Rs 10,000.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the affected families will receive an additional \u20b92,000 per month for the next three months, along with essential food items such as rice and lentils. The emergency control room helpline numbers, 033-22143526\/22535185, have been made available for anyone in need. Banerjee assured that the West Bengal Government will work in coordination with the Odisha Government to restore normalcy. She kindly requested everyone to stay calm and resilient during this challenging time.<\/p>\n
