A large community reception called ‘Australia Welcomes Modi’ is being organized by the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation (IADF) in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Australia for the Quad Leaders\u2019 Summit.<\/p>\n
The event will take place on May 23 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park and has received registrations from around 24,000 people. Although the venue’s capacity is 21,000, a few thousand more will watch the event live from outside the arena.<\/p>\n
To ensure a better experience for Indian Australians travelling from Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane, the IADF has arranged a chartered flight, called ‘Modi Express’, along with a train and car convoy that will carry both Indian and Australian flags.<\/span><\/p>\n This is not the first time such a train has been organized, as during PM Modi’s 2014 visit, a special train called ‘Modi Express’ was arranged from Melbourne to Sydney<\/span>The IADF is a non-profit organization that promotes cooperation and collaboration between Australia and India to advance shared values of democracy, inclusive economic development, and mutual respect. <\/span><\/p>\n According to its website, the IADF brings together Indian-Australian organizations and institutions to expand opportunities for engagement with India within the region<\/span>PM Modi is visiting Australia to attend the Quad Leaders\u2019 Summit, which is being hosted by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on May 24 in Sydney. <\/span><\/p>\n The summit will be attended by US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, making it the third in-person Quad Leaders\u2019 Summit.<\/span><\/p>\n
