The Supreme Court declared the death penalty for a case in 2000 where the Lashkar e Taiba<\/a> terrorist from Pakistan, Mohammad Arif, attacked the Red Fort attack killing three people, including two soldiers.<\/p>\n A bench headed by Chief Justice UU Lalit rejected Mohammad Arif’s review plea and upheld the death penalty granted to him. The bench said: “His guilt is proven. We affirm the view taken by this court and reject the review petition.”<\/p>\n The top court delivered the judgment in the revision petition of its 2014 order. In 2014, the apex court upheld the death sentence awarded to Arif after his conviction for attacking the Red Fort in December 2000. Arif, a Pakistan national, was arrested along with his wife, Rehmana Yousuf Farooqui, four days after the attack.<\/p>\n He was found guilty of murder, criminal conspiracy, and waging war against India.
