There are 35 polling stations in urban areas. The polling staff had reached the allocated polling stations in Munugode Assembly constituency along with polling material including EVMs, VVPATs and control units by Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
The counting will be taken up on November 6. A total of 105 polling stations are identified as critical. The process would be a webcast from all polling stations. As part of the security arrangements, around 100 checkposts have been erected and 15 companies of central forces have been deployed along with 3,366 state police personnel.<\/p>\n
The bypoll in Munugode Assembly constituency in Nalgonda district was necessitated after sitting MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy resigned from the Congress to join the BJP in August.<\/p>\n
Reddy is now contesting on a BJP ticket against former TRS MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and Congress leader Palvai Sravanthi Reddy. There are also 44 other candidates in the fray.<\/p>\n
A total of 2,41,795 electorate \u2013 1,21,662 men and 1,20,126 women \u2013 are expected to exercise their franchise. All top leaders from TRS, BJP and Congress campaigned in Munugode over the past two months. TRS, for its part, is banking heavily on KCR\u2019s image and the popularity of his welfare schemes.<\/p>\n
