New Delhi:<\/strong> Union Finance Minister<\/a> Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday that the only solution to the ongoing deadlock over agrarian reform laws is ‘dialogue’ and the government is ready to discuss with farmers<\/a> every provision of the newly passed three farm laws.<\/p>\n After presenting the budget in Parliament, Mrs. Sitharaman told in a press conference at the National Media Center that the government is ready to debate on agricultural laws at any point on the farmers’ doubts.<\/p>\n Nirmala Sitharaman said that Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and other ministers have also agreed to come forward at any time to consider all the provisions and clear the doubts of farmers.<\/p>\n The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also clarified that no changes have been made in the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and the Government so that the agricultural reform laws can be postponed for a year and a half.<\/p>\n In response to a question about not giving direct relief to taxpayers, Mrs. Sitharaman said the government’s efforts to rid taxpayers of “tax terrorism” is a relief.<\/p>\n He said that earlier taxpayers were obliged to check their income and bank accounts for 10 years but now this period has been extended to three years for doubtful bank accounts<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n Responding to a question about India’s low defense budget as compared to China’s defense budget, Mrs. Sitharaman said that senior officers of the army had already been given some powers for necessary defense procurement so that the Indian Army does not need to get permission from the government for the goods.
