Farmers’ agitation in Delhi continues even on the 41st day. Yesterday, no decision was taken in the eighth round of talks between the farmers’ organizations and the government.<\/h2>\n

New Delhi:<\/strong> Farmers’ protest on the 41st day on Tuesday continued in the national capital of Delhi demanding the abolition of three farm laws related to agricultural reforms and the legal status of minimum support price (MSP)<\/a> for crops.<\/p>\n

Despite the inclement weather for the last three days, leaders and activists of farmer organizations have been sitting on dharna<\/em> on the borders of the capital. Farmers’ organizations have decided to continue their struggle till their demands are met. This movement is also getting support from various organizations.<\/p>\n

Eighth round of talks between farmers’ organizations and government yielded no results<\/h3>\n

Meanwhile, no decision could be taken in the eighth round of talks between the farmers’ organizations and the government<\/a> yesterday. After the talks, Agriculture Minister Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said that the interaction with the farmers has taken place in a very good environment. He is confident that the issue will be resolved soon.<\/p>\n

He said that the government has prepared agrarian reform laws keeping in mind the overall interest of the farmers and if there is any problem with that, the government is ready to discuss it.<\/p>\n

Farmers’ organizations insist on withdrawal of farm laws<\/h3>\n

Mr. Tomar said that farmers’ organizations are insisting on repealing agriculture reform laws, while the government wants to discuss them in detail. He said that the meeting on 8 January will be meaningful and they will resolve it. The next date for talks has been scheduled for January 8 after the consent of two parties.<\/p>\n

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has said that the government is insisting on point-to-point discussion on agrarian reform laws while farmers are demanding that all three agrarian reforms be withdrawn.<\/p>\n

In the previous round of talks, there was an agreement between the farmers and the government on the matter of not changing the subsidy on electricity tariff and not taking action on the farmers who burn stubble, but the withdrawal of agricultural reform laws and legal status to MSP The deadlock persists when given.<\/p>\n
