The gunfight in the Baramulla district broke out at Wanigam Bala Village during a cordon and a search operation which was launched by a team of joint forces following information about the presence of militants in the area.<\/p>\n
As the cordon was being laid, the hiding terrorists opened fire which was retaliated upon by the security forces leading to an encounter,” a security official said. “Encounter has started at Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla district.
