Abuja:<\/strong> Unidentified gunmen attacked a school in the northern Nigerian state of Katsina and kidnapped around 400 children. The Vanguard newspaper of Nigeria reported about it quoting the officials.<\/p>\n The incident occurred on Friday when some armed men attacked Kankara Government Secondary School. After killing the school’s security personnel, they barged into the school premises.<\/p>\n More than 800 children were in school at the time of the attack. No clear information has been available about the number of children kidnapped by the gunmen. A large number of school children hid in the surrounding area during the attack.<\/p>\n Education Commissioner Badamasi Lawal Charanchi<\/a> said that 406 children have returned safely while the other missing children are yet to be traced.<\/p>\n According to the officials, the children remained hidden in the bushes all night and returned to their homes in the morning.
