Kolkata:<\/strong> Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that she does not support the farmers’ strike on 08 December but is with the farmers and supports their demand. Mamta Banerjee has demanded Prime Minister Modi withdraw the new farm laws as soon as possible.<\/p>\n Addressing a rally in Madanipur, Mamta Banerjee said, “I cannot forget Singur. I had gone on a hunger strike for farmers and 26 days of hunger strike in 2006 is still in everyone’s memory. I was against acquring fertile land from farmers. However, my party does not support any bandh. Therefore, we support the demands made yesterday by the farmers<\/a>.<\/p>\n Significantly, various groups opposing the new rules have called for a shutdown in India on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari<\/a> of East Madanipur is set to rebel against the Trinamool Congress. He resigned from Mamta Banerjee’s cabinet last week. But he has not left the party yet. After reaching Madanipur, Mamta Banerjee said without naming Suvendu Adhikari that violation of discipline in the party would not be tolerated. Ms. Mamta Banerjee also stopped anti-party activities of Trinamool Congress MP Suvendu Adhikari’s father, Sisir Adhikari<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ms. Banerjee said that the BJP is an external party. There is no place for a party like BJP in West Bengal. Ms. Banerjee appealed to the people of East Madanipur to do their best to prevent external forces from occupying Bengal.<\/p>\n Mamta Banerjee said that there is no place for blackmailers in the party. Ms. Banerjee said that CPM and Congress people in West Bengal<\/a> are also supporting a party like BJP against me.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister announced that her party would continue providing free ration for the third consecutive year after June.
