Delhi police “break” Congress leader Chidambaram’s ribs, brutally attack India’s “Oxygen Man” Srinivas, who saved many lives during COVID.<\/h1>\n

After the Congress protested in thousands against Rahul Gandhi’s summons by the ED, Delhi police brutally attack Congress workers and leaders.\u00a0 There is video evidence to reveal the violence of the police with baton-charging Congress workers inside the party headquarters located at 24, Akbar Road in the national capital. It was stunning to see Srinivas being beaten by police.\u00a0 No one deserves to be beaten brutally in this manner, be it a top leader or a beggar, but what is shocking is a senior citizen like Chidambaram gets his ribs allegedly broken by the brutal police.<\/p>\n

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram suffered<\/a> a fractured rib after he was allegedly manhandled by Delhi cops as shared by the Congress.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

India’s hero “Oxygen Man” Srinivas Dharmapuri Srinivas, National President of the Indian Youth Congress was dragged like a criminal and thrashed up mercilessly.\u00a0 Srinivas incidentally saved literally thousands of lives during<\/a> India’s second deathly COVID wave which cruelly claimed thousands of lives. It has affected the Indian population<\/a> at an alarming rate and has so far infected 25\u2009385\u2009043 people, and has taken 280\u2009683 innocent lives<\/p>\n

Srinivas along with his team of Youth Congress workers stayed up nights, red-eyed, serving the people on the streets, giving them food, and medicine, and more importantly, tirelessly arranging for hospital beds and most importantly, getting oxygen for those who couldn’t breathe due to COVID.\u00a0 Srinivas went on a mission to ensure oxygen cylinders reached the gasping and needy and this endeavor saved countless lives.\u00a0 Such a man as this did not deserve to be treated like a common criminal on the streets by the police.<\/p>\n

Discussing the issue, Rajasthan chief minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot stated that ‘democracy is in danger.’\u00a0 Karnataka Opposition Congress party leader Siddaramaiah and State Congress president DK Shivakumar condemned Delhi Police\u2019s action against its party workers in the national capital asking if this was democracy and he said, \u201cIs this a democracy? Is it not an injustice to arrest leaders going to the party office?\u201d Shivakumar questioned and added that he had never seen politics stoop so low.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n

The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel said the country\u2019s situation \u201cis in front of everyone\u201d.\u00a0 His own car was stopped by the Delhi Police when he tried to enter the headquarters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere in the country is in front of everyone to see. I could not bring my own staff inside the AICC office. No one else is allowed. Political activists cannot enter their party offices. This is happening for the first time in the country,\u201d Baghel said.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThey are trying to stop political activities of leaders. You can only suppress someone till a limit, and now, all limits have been crossed.”<\/p>\n

The police\u2019s alleged forceful entry comes in the wake of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to join the investigation relating to the National Herald case<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram shared a video on Twitter terming Delhi Police as \u201cThe BJP\u2019s private militia\u201d.<\/p>\n

Rajasthan chief minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot described the present situation in the country as \u201cvery dangerous\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one knows what will happen tomorrow. There is a sense of fear in every alley, every home. \u00a0Democracy is in danger, and the Constitution is being violated. The approach of RSS-BJP is very dangerous,\u201d Gehlot said.<\/p>\n

Later in the day, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and party\u2019s chief spokesperson Randeep Surewala, while speaking to reporters, demanded the Central government live stream the ongoing case.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the Prime Minister and the Home Minister also join the probe and sit there, and let the country see this is only a facade because there is no case and nothing to ask,\u201d Randeep Surewala told reporters.<\/p>\n

Demanding an FIR, suspension, and a disciplinary inquiry against the Delhi Police, Randeep said that the Congress, as a retaliation, will \u2018gherao<\/em>\u2018 all Raj Bhavans across India and hold protests at all district levels across the country.<\/p>\n

Delhi Police denies all allegations<\/h3>\n

Delhi Police have denied the allegations of baton-charging Congress workers inside the party headquarters located at 24, Akbar Road in the national capital.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is untrue and false news. No such incident took place,\u201d deputy commissioner of police Amruttha Guguloth said. Special Commissioner Sagar Preet Hooda also shared similar views.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a minor fracas outside the Congress headquarters when some people who came outside on the road threw barricades at the police. Police lathi charging or barging inside AICC HQ is utterly wrong. No such thing happened,\u201d the Special CP said.<\/p>\n

Seriously, Can India Be Called a Democracy?<\/h3>\n

Is there any democracy left in this country? When S. Jaishankar sternly told the EU that no country will be permitted to interfere in India’s internal affairs, he has to keep in mind he is speaking to other democratic nations and not autocratic dictatorships and India needs to keep on par with them as business partners too and cannot afford to become a police state drifting down to the levels of North Korea.\u00a0 The government now needs to light up the candles of humanity which come even before the light of democracy. It’s all about giving dignity to a human.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
