The government hospital, Sardar Hospital in Samastipur city in Bihar demanded a bribe of 50,000 from the grieving father who had to go through the village begging for money to raise\u00a0 Rs. 50,000 to pay the greedy coroners who refuse to release the body of the son until the father pays them!\u00a0 The father is seen dragging his feet, pain and sorrow registered on his face while people throw money out on the cloth he is holding and his wife in deep sorrow walks behind him.<\/p>\n
The couple claimed that they were forced to do the same after an employee of Sadar Hospital allegedly asked them to pay Rs 50,000 to release the son\u2019s body.<\/p>\n
Speaking to news agency ANI, the deceased\u2019s father Mahesh Thakur said, \u201cSome time ago my son had gone missing. Now, we\u2019ve received a call that my son\u2019s body is at Sadar Hospital in Samastipur. A hospital employee has asked for Rs 50,000 to release my son\u2019s body. We are poor people, how can we pay this amount?”<\/p>\n
Priyanka Chaturvedi, a politician from the Shiv Sena tweeted, “Faith in humanity dies a little every single day. This is depressing to the core, are these hospitals even ashamed of themselves? I urge Hon. CM @NitishKumar ji to take strict action against the hospital.”<\/p>\n
