New Delhi:<\/strong> Farmers’ organizations on Tuesday rejected the government’s proposal to set up a committee to address agricultural problems and passed a resolution to continue the agitation.<\/p>\n After the meeting which lasted for about three-and-a-half hours<\/a>, Agriculture Minister Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said that there was good dialogue between the government and farmers’ organizations and the talks will continue on Thursday.<\/p>\n He said that the government had suggested setting up a committee to solve the problems of the farmers, but a consensus could not be reached on this.<\/p>\n The meeting was attended by Food and Supplies Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Mr. Som Prakash<\/a> and 35 farmer leaders. The meeting started at Vigyan Bhavan at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n Representatives of the farmers said that if the government wants peace, it should solve the problems of the farmers. The farmers will continue their agitation.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the farmers’ representatives of Maharashtra and several other states came to the national capital to express their solidarity with the movement.<\/p>\n [Hams Live]<\/p>\n
