New Delhi:<\/strong> There was a late-night meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nanda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on the protest of the farmers running in the national capital, while on the other hand, the organizations have refused to accept any condition for talks<\/a> with the government.<\/p>\n Mr. Nadda, Amit Shah, and Mr. Tomar held talks about the farmers’ strategy till late in the night but no official details were shared. Mr. Shah suggested the leaders of the farmers come to Burari Maidan and end the road blockade. He urged to stage protests democratically and said that once this happens, a dialogue with the farmers would be held the very next day.<\/p>\n Farmers’ leader Yogendra Yadav has said that the farmers’ organizations are not ready to accept any precondition of the government for talks. A meeting of farmer organizations was held yesterday in which more than 20 farmer organizations from Punjab insisted on holding talks at the protest site.<\/p>\n Mr. Tomar said that the government wants to talk to farmers with an open mind. Agriculture reform laws have nothing to do with the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural products. The government has already invited farmer organizations for talks on 3 December.<\/p>\n Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio program<\/a> that farmers have got new rights and opportunities through agrarian reform laws<\/a>. The Parliament has passed the Agrarian Reforms Act after deliberations. These reforms have broken many of the bonds of farmers.<\/p>\n The government has held two rounds of talks with farmers’ organizations in the past without any results. Farmers’ organizations are demanding the repeal of three farm laws enacted recently, legalization of MSP, withdrawal of lawsuits against protesting farmers, and many more.<\/p>\n Farmers’ organizations and their activists have been stranded on the Delhi border for the last four days blocking major roads leading to Delhi, leaving a large number of vehicles stranded. Some farmers’ organizations want to organize protests in the capital’s Jantar-Mantar<\/a>.<\/p>\n Farmers’ organizations have brought ration and other eatables with them and have been preparing for protests for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Khap Panchayats of Haryana have decided to support the farmers’ agitation and march in Delhi today.
