“Our continued consultation & dialogue are key to ensuring the US-India relationship continues to grow deeper and stronger”, says Pres. Biden<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

President Biden and Prime Minister Modi delivered a combined front in the general part of their meeting, aired live on the White House website.<\/p>\n

The US president and Indian prime minister later went in a private session, at which Biden is expected to raise US concerns over India\u2019s perceived closeness to Moscow and its continuing investment in Russian oil and military systems.<\/p>\n

During the live public show, Joe Biden said, \u201cAt the root of our partnership is a deep connection between our people, a family of friendship and a shared value,\u201d to PM Modi who appeared on a giant screen before him.<\/p>\n

He also said, \u201cThe people in Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0are suffering a horrific assault, including the tragic shelling in a train station last week that killed dozens of innocent children and women and civilians attempting to flee the violence. The United States and India are going to continue our close consultation on how to manage the destabilizing effects of this Russian war.\u201d<\/p>\n

PM Modi condemned the killings of Ukraine citizens<\/a> and said India was \u201cvery worried\u201d about the alleged atrocities in Bucha.<\/p>\n

PM Modi said, “The news of the recent killings of innocent civilians in Bucha city was very worrying. We condemned it immediately and have also demanded a fair probe. We hope that the ongoing talks between Russia and Ukraine will lead to peace.\u201d he also added that India had contributed to the global effort to send help to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have also emphasized the importance of the security of civilians in Ukraine and the unhindered supply of humanitarian assistance to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The press were asked to leave without the opportunity to ask questions, and the live feed went dark. It remains to be seen if Biden or Modi will make themselves available to reporters at the end of the event.<\/p>\n

Opinions are expressed that the situation is sensitive.\u00a0 The relationship between US and India is too deep for Russia to dent, however, complications arise in the different way US and Indian view things.<\/p>\n

There has been rape and sexual violence<\/a> against women and children and the war is not finishing anytime soon.\u00a0 In fact, the war is not ending but shifting.\u00a0 There are around 100,000 people still in Mariupol living without food and water, hiding in the bomb shelters and basements where Russia is mercilessly bombing the city.<\/p>\n
