New Delhi: The Indian Army has established winter habitat facilities for the troops deployed in eastern Ladakh amid ongoing border tension with China. \u00a0The Army has worked on a war-footing to construct heated shelters, bunkers, and arctic tents<\/a>, as well as acquire specialized winter clothing, gear, and other essential supplies for its over 50,000 troops deployed at the ‘friction points’.<\/p>\n India and China had ‘broadly agreed’ to pull-back troops, tanks, howitzers, and armored vehicles from the ‘friction points’ in the Pangong Tso-Chushul area of eastern Ladakh. However, the \u2018exact modalities and sequencing of steps,\u2019’ as well as the joint verification process for the proposed disengagement plan, is yet to be mutually finalized.<\/p>\n According to Army sources, Altitudes in Ladakh range from High to Super High Altitude, and the area experience up to 40 feet of snowfall, after the month of November. The temperature was as low as minus 30-40 degrees along with cold winds. Road access also gets affected for a short period of time.<\/p>\n
