While incidentally, one never associates a crime with a person’s ethnicity and religion, unfortunately, after the Kashmir Files<\/a>, a pronounced usage of “Kashmiri Pandits” over India has sharpened attacks and with this, when the molester happens to be a Kashmir Pandit teacher, locals in Kashmir exploded with different reactions.<\/p>\n Locals and family members told news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a minor girl was allegedly molested by a person in a Srinagar area on March 31 after which they approached the police.<\/p>\n Talking to KNO, a top police official said that case of alleged molestation has been registered on the complaint of the victim\u2019s family as there was no rape as per the initial probe of the police.<\/p>\n \u201cTwo days ago, there was a complaint lodged by a family about suspected molestation of a minor girl, wherein Srinagar police lodged FIR under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act. The accused was also arrested immediately,\u201d the police said without naming the accused.<\/p>\n \u201cFurther, there was no complaint of rape by the family of members of the minor girl, which was corroborated by medical examination as well,\u201d the police said, adding, \u201cSome unscrupulous elements are trying to give this incident a communal color by giving motivated statements with intention to create communal divide\u201d. The police said, \u201cPublic is requested not to pay heed to such rumours.\u201d<\/p>\n Peoples Conference youth president, Sheikh Mohammad Imran demanded capital punishment against a man who allegedly raped a minor girl in the Soura area of Srinagar and questioned selective silence about this incident.<\/p>\n Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Imran said that he was shocked to know that a 6-year-old girl from the Vicharnag area of Soura was raped by a Kashmiri Pandit.<\/p>\n He also said that crime is never associated with any race or religion and quested the selective silence about this incident.<\/p>\n \u201cHeard distressing news about a 6- yr old girl of Vicharnag (Soura) raped by a Kashmiri rather Kashmiri pandit. Crime is never associated with any Race or religion but why is there a selective silence about this incident? If this is true then silence seems criminal,\u201d he tweeted.\u00a0\u00a0He also asked DC Srinagar and police to ascertain the facts and bring justice to the victim.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have to break this criminal silence & bring justice to humanity & stand for Strict punishment rather capital punishment against the monster who destroyed the life of a blooming girl.
