Deep Sidhu<\/a> was traveling from Delhi to Bhatinda in Punjab when the car in which he was traveling in rammed a trailer truck at 9:30 pm today, the police said.<\/p>\nDeep Sidhu was accused of being involved as the prime suspect in last year\u2019s Republic Day violence and was facing a criminal trial for engineering the violence that ensued at the Red Fort on Republic Day last year.\u00a0 He was in jail for over two months and was released on bail on April 17.<\/p>\n
Who Was Deep Sidhu<\/h3>\n
Deep Sidhu was born in 1984 to a Punjabi family in Muktsar, Punjab, is an Indian barrister, actor, and activist who works in Punjabi language films. Sidhu has started his film career with the Punjabi film Ramta Jogi which was produced by actor Dharmendra under his banner Vijayta Films.<\/p>\n
Career<\/strong>
\nSidhu became the winner of Kingfisher Model Hunt and then he took part in Grasim Mr. India and became Grasim Mr. Personality and Grasim Mr. Talented. Sidhu has walked the ramp in Mumbai for designers like Hemant Trivedi, Rohit Gandhi, and others. Somehow he could not connect with Modelling World so he started practicing as a lawyer since he has studied law. His first placement was with Sahara India Pariwar as a legal advisor. Then he worked with a British law firm called Hammonds. They managed Disney, Sony Pictures, and other Hollywood Studios. Then he became legal head of Balaji Telefilms for three and half years. That’s where Ekta Kapoor told him to act but he didn’t start.<\/p>\nPolitics<\/strong>
\nSidhu joined politics during the 2019 Indian general election and campaigned for Gurdaspur BJP MP Sunny Deol. He is said to be close to Sunny Deol and in December 2020, during farmers’ protest, farmer unions used Sidhu’s pictures with Prime minister Narendra Modi and Sunny Deol to show the link of BJP and RSS in protests\u2014a claim which was later denied by Sidhu.<\/p>\nThe farmer unions blamed Sidhu and gangster-turned-activist Lakha Sidhana for instigating a riot and hoisting a religious flag on Red Fort during the 2021 Farmers’ Republic Day parade.\u00a0 \u00a0Sidhu and Sadana were also booked by the police.<\/p>\n
In a prior investigation by the police, it said in a statement “there was a pre-conceived and well-coordinated plan to break the agreement between the Delhi Police and the leaders of protesting organizations.”\u00a0 Sidhu was arrested on 9 February 2021 and released later.<\/p>\n
