Darjeeling 2022 saw thick winter snowfalls in January and the usually misty gloomy Ghoom transformed into a winter fairytale magic land.<\/h2>\n

Darjeeling and Sikkim<\/a> winter snow cast its magic over the region with its mesmerizing glistening snowclad beauty causing people to play joyfully in the snow, making snowballs playfully indulging in happy snow fights, snowmen, and taking long drives in the lightly falling snow.<\/p>\n

Ghoom was covered in a blanket of snow with freezing dips in mercury with all the people clad heavily in warm jackets, sipping hot tea or Thukpa, (Tibetan noodle soup) and eating steaming momos (Tibetan and Nepalese dumpling dish) or sizzling Samosas. However, as standard in the hills, hill people can sturdily bear the freezing chilly climate without much-added gear or boots unlike the people from the warmer regions, and here is an adventurous family braving the subzero temperatures out on the rocky roads and standing on the famous Darjeeling toy train railway tracks!<\/p>\n

Here is a picture of the town Ghoom, one of the highest points on the way to the main town of Darjeeling, usually enshrouded in thick swirling gray fogs was for once enchantingly lit up with tiny glowing white snowflakes.\u00a0 Tourists are flocking to Darjeeling and Sikkim during this time of the year to experience the snowfall.<\/p>\n

In Sandakphun, the highest point in West Bengal, the temperature dropped below zero degrees Celsius. \u201cPlaces such as Tiger Hill, one of the most renowned sunrise spots in Darjeeling and Mt Kancendzonga received snowfall. There was tremendous snowfall on Wednesday snowfall was massive. The entire Tiger Hill has come under a dense blanket of snow.<\/p>\n
